Men’s Basketball Season Opener Against Delaware State Canceled

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Due to a positive COVID-19 test by an individual not affiliated with the Longwood men’s basketball program, the Lancers’ season-opening game against Delaware State scheduled for Thursday at noon has been canceled.
Medical personnel on site at LJVM Coliseum confirmed the positive test result Thursday morning more than an hour before tipoff. The game, which was to be the second contest of the Mako Medical Wake Forest Classic hosted by Wake Forest, will not be rescheduled.
Longwood’s game against Wake Forest this Friday at 7 p.m. remains on schedule but will be subject to the same COVID-19 safety protocols as established by the NCAA and Wake Forest University medical personnel. That game will air on ACC Network.
