East Grand Rapids’ Jillian Brown battled Morasha Wiggins of Kalamazoo Central on Saturday, followed by a showdown between Detroit Edison’s Damiya Hagemann and Detroit Renaissance’s Kailee Davis on the same day.

School: East Grand Rapids
Brown has guided EGR to a 7-0 record with the team’s most impressive win coming over Kalamazoo Central and Morasha Wiggins on Saturday.
In the showdown between two of the country’s best players, Brown filled the stat sheet as she finished with a double-double, scoring 12 points, pulling down 13 rebounds and dishing out seven assists.
Brown wasn’t done there as she then added 14 points and eight rebounds as the Pioneers topped Lowell 79-59 on Tuesday.
School: Kent City
Commitment: Illinois State
Bowers has been on a tear this season, which has resulted in a 7-0 record so far for the Eagles.
Most recently, Bowers led Kent City with 26 points in a blowout win over Hopkins on Tuesday to go along with a 26-point performance versus Holton last Friday and a 28-point showing against Grant on Saturday.
School: Detroit Renaissance
Commitment: Northern Kentucky
Davis turned in a solid performance against Hagemann and Detroit Edison as she finished with 22 points and 11 points, but the Phoenix fell in the clash and have lost two games in a row.
Ediger matched her career-high with 34 points in a win over Spring Lake on Friday. The veteran forward hit six 3-pointers in the victory and has helped Hamilton open the season at 5-1.
School: Detroit Edison
Commitment: Michigan State
Hagemann had a game-high 23 points in the battle with Davis and Detroit Renaissance and recorded a double-double in a 62-53 win over No. 3 West Bloomfield as she scored 15 points, had 10 assists and grabbed four rebounds.
School: Wayne Memorial
Micheaux is living up to the hype this year and is putting up monster numbers for Wayne Memorial. She most recently compiled 23 points and 19 rebounds as WM rolled Belleville 84-25 on Tuesday and improved to 7-0 on the year.
Nash proved how talented she was when the Big Reds faced Detroit Edison earlier this season. Though they lost, Nash performed well finishing with 31 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks against the state’s best team.
That wasn’t an anomaly either as the senior has been lights out this year averaging 25 points, 12 rebounds, five blocks, five assists and four steals through seven games and is a newcomer to the watch list.
School: Adrian Lenawee Christian
The 3-time Associated Press Division 4 Player of the Year is off to another strong start in her senior season.
She’s averaging 25 points per game and is coming off a 33-point, 13-rebound performance in a 71-55 win over South Lyon East on Monday to push Lenawee Christian to 4-1 this year.
Stemmer continues to play like one of the state’s best players and has the Hornets buzzing right now with a 5-0 start.
The Lehigh commit had 20 points, 10 rebounds and five steals in a 49-32 win over Temperance Bedford on Friday and added 22 points, five rebounds and three steals to lead Saline to a 58-34 victory against Ann Arbor Pioneer on Tuesday night.
School: Kalamazoo Central
Commitment: North Carolina
Wiggins scored 14 points, grabbed six rebounds and had five steals in limited minutes in a victory over Battle Creek Central on Friday but battled early foul trouble in Saturday’s 53-42 loss to East Grand Rapids and fellow Miss Basketball hopeful Jillian Brown. Still, Wiggins finished the game with 13 points and seven rebounds.
