LSU football is one of a few programs that have a legitimate chance to land the nation’s No. 6 overall rated player.
2022 five-star cornerback Denver Harris is one of the most sought-after recruits in the nation.
Harris, 6-foot-1/180 lbs from Houston, TX (North Shore), is ranked in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 3 cornerback in the country and the No. 2 player in Texas.
Nearly every major program in the country is hoping to land Harris, but only a couple of programs will receive visits from the elite defensive back.
And LSU is one of those programs.
Denver Harris to visit LSU football this summer
According to 247Sports, Harris is scheduled to take an official visit to LSU the second weekend of June.
The first weekend in June, Harris will visit Texas A&M.
Earlier this year, Harris revealed a final four of Alabama, LSU, Texas, and Texas A&M.
In February, Rivals national recruiting director Adam Gorney reported that Alabama, LSU, and Texas A&M are likely ahead of Texas.
A month later, Gorney reported that those four programs are still the top choices for Harris.
Gorney also cautioned against completely writing off Texas.
“The feeling is that the SEC schools lead but I’m not counting out Texas because that staff has been aggressively going after Harris and the Longhorns have had good in-state success so far,” wrote Gorney.
It’s clear that the visits are going to be key for Harris. We should have a much better idea of what Harris will do after he takes his official visits.
At this point, I’d lean toward this battle being a toss-up between Alabama and LSU. And it’s way too close to call right now.
