Western Carolina, Wofford Football Game Canceled – catamountsports.com

Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina’s spring football season finale against the Wofford Terriers (1-4) scheduled for Saturday, April 10 has been canceled as Wofford announced Monday that it is opting out of the remainder of the 2021 spring FCS football season.
Wofford’s decision was based upon a combination of player COVID opt-outs and injuries that have left the team below the Southern Conference guidelines for specific position groups. From a statement released by the SoCon, the league supports Wofford’s decision to discontinue the 2020-21 football season and the Terriers’ remaining scheduled games will be recorded as no-contests.
Please note, individuals who have already purchased tickets for Saturday’s scheduled game through Western Carolina will be directly contacted by the WCU Ticket Office to discuss options.
WCU’s fall 2021 schedule that includes a Sept. 11 road trip to Norman, Oklahoma, to face the Sooners will be announced in the coming weeks. That release will also include information pertaining to season tickets for WCU’s home schedule.
