The Air Force at Wyoming football game scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14, is canceled, due an upward trend of COVID-19 cases at the Academy, and in the football program. The game has been determined a “no contest,” per Mountain West COVID protocols.
“We are disappointed to lose a second consecutive game, but the health and safety of our cadets, staff and community is our No. 1 priority at the Academy,” Air Force Director of Athletics Nathan Pine said. “We have seen continued increase in our COVID numbers within the football program and have again eclipsed our threshold for safe competition. We will pause football practices for now and work with our sports medicine staff to determine when it will be safe to restart again.”
This is the second straight game that Air Force has missed, as the program’s game at Army, Nov. 7, was postponed last week. The team’s last game was vs. Boise State Oct. 31 in Falcon Stadium. Air Force is scheduled to play New Mexico next on Friday, Nov. 20, at 7:30 p.m. MT at Falcon Stadium.
The next scheduled game for Wyoming is Thursday, Nov. 19 when the Cowboys will host Utah State in War Memorial Stadium in Laramie. That game is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m., M.T.
